Kenan Yildiz update

Arsenal have been given an update on the future of Juventus starlet Kenan Yildiz – a player that Mikel Arteta is ready to splash out €100 million on.

Although his current deal runs until 2029, if Juventus are not successful in contract extension negotiations, Yildiz is expected to secure a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal at the front of the queue.

However, Giorgio Chiellini, the sporting director of Juve, has played down any fears of the Turin side being forced into a sale.

“Kenan has a long contract with us; everything can't be resolved in a week. Our shared desire is to continue together; we know how important that is. We want to live up to his status,” he said (via Nicolo Schira).

Kobbie Mainoo wants Real Madrid

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is reportedly wanted by both Barcelona and Real Madrid in January, but he is currently prioritising a move to the latter.

Reports claim that as many as 12 clubs are monitoring Mainoo’s current situation at Old Trafford and he is therefore set to be the subject of a major transfer battle next month.

Spanish publication Defensa Central claim that Barcelona president Joan Laporta is considering a January move for Mainoo, but it’s understood that would instead prefer to join Real Madrid next year.

Gonzalo Garcia wants to stay at Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Garcia has decided to snub significant transfer interest from across Europe to remain at the club during the January window.

Several clubs in La Liga and the Premier League have expressed their interest in finalising a mid-season deal for the 21-year-old, including Aston Villa, Leeds United and Getafe, however Garcia has now opted to remain at the Bernabeu until at least next summer.

That is according to a shock report from Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that he will not entertain any offers to leave his boyhood club during the winter window.
