The Red Devils strengthened their first-team squad with an investment of €250.7 million this summer, however they remain determined to bolster the options at Ruben Amorim’s disposal.

The likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee have all been linked with an Old Trafford departure in 2026, and the Man Utd hierarchy may also see Bruno Fernandes exit the club following his recent comments during a bombshell interview with publication Canal 11.

In response to several possible departures, the 13-time Premier League champions have earmarked the aforementioned Semenyo and Anderson as two key transfer targets.

The Red Devils opted to shop within the English top flight with the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer, and they are eager to continue this strategy next year.

Semenyo, who has registered 10 goal contributions in 15 Premier League games so far this season, is set to be available for €74 million (£65m) during the upcoming January transfer window due to a release clause in his Bournemouth contract, and Man Utd are among several clubs interested in signing him.

Meanwhile, Anderson is valued at around €114m (£100m) amid his immense form for both Nottingham Forest and the England national team.

Antoine Semenyo to Man Utd?

Rumours that Man Utd are ready to step up their pursuit of Semenyo comes after Amorim described the Ghana international as a “special player” following his side’s 4-4 draw against Bournemouth on Monday.

“They have a special player. They have many good players but they have a special player in Semenyo. [He] can play both sides with both feet,” Amorim told reporters after the match.

Asked if he was hinting that a January deal for the forward could be on the cards, the Red Devils boss replied: “No, it’s not the case. I think there is a lot of special players in the league. What I feel is that it’s to summarise the top manager, top team. I really like the team and the top player. I think he is a special player.”
