Chelsea have reportedly rekindled their interest in Manchester City star Oscar Bobb, but they may need to sell Pedro Neto before pursuing a deal for the Norwegian.

Bobb, 22, was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in 2024 and the Blues are once again eager to secure his services amid his uncertain future with Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Norway winger started Man City’s first three fixtures of the new Premier League season, but he has fallen down the pecking order due to Rayan Cherki’s impressive recent form and he is now on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in mid-December.

Bobb has only racked up 13 English top flight minutes since the start of November and he has been heavily linked with an Etihad Stadium departure amid reports that Antoine Semenyo is set to join the club next month.

Man City have already agreed terms with the Ghana superstar and they are now locked in discussions with Bournemouth over a January transfer, with a deal expected to be formalised shortly.

Bobb still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract with Man City, but he has been tipped to leave the club during the upcoming winter window and several teams are closely monitoring his situation.

Crystal Palace, Fulham and Sevilla are all interested in signing the 22-year-old, as per multiple reports, while Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips has confirmed that Enzo Maresca’s side are also in the race for his signature.

Oscar Bobb to Chelsea?

Chelsea bolstered their options out wide with the signings of Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian this summer, however it remains a major problem position for the club.

Geovany Quenda will arrive from Sporting CP to add further depth next year, but the Blues are also eager to finalise a deal for Bobb amid question marks over his long-term future at Man City.

However, the aforementioned Phillips has revealed that a transfer for the Norway star won’t take place unless Chelsea offload Pedro Neto.

The ex-Wolves winger has established himself as an integral player under Maresca this year, but he may need to be sold in order to free up space for Bobb.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia have been linked with a move for Neto in recent months, while Barcelona have also expressed their desire to sign him this year.
