Chelsea and Liverpool have been told that they must pay "over €100 million" to sign RB Leipzig wonderkid Yan Diomande.

The 19-year-old's stunning rise continues. Just last year, Diomande was playing amateur and academy football in the United States and getting rejected by European clubs.

Now, he is starring for the second-best team in the Bundesliga and, if he stays fit, is almost guaranteed to be playing for the Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup. Diomande has been brilliant signing for Leipzig.

The tricky winger has racked up seven goals and four assists in 16 appearances so far this term, fully justifying the eyebrow-raising €20 million that was spent to sign him from second-tier Spanish side Leganes.

For several weeks, Diomande has been the subject of links to various Premier League clubs. Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Man City have all been associated with the wonderkid.

Diomande to cost 'over €100m'

Sky Germany has now provided an update on the youngster's situation and confirmed that these clubs are tracking his development. However, the outlet reiterates its previous reporting that it would require "over €100 million" to sign Diomande.

The "incredible talent" is fully focused on Leipzig for now. A transfer will only become a genuine possibility after the World Cup. This means that, contrary to some claims, there are no talks taking place for Diomande right now.

This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, as a January transfer was always going to be difficult to pull off. In addition to Leipzig's hefty price tag, the Africa Cup of Nations would have complicated a deal, with Diomande included in Emerse Fae's squad for the tournament in Morocco.

The interest in the 19-year-old is concrete, but with no release clause in Diomande's contract, Leipzig can demand whatever they want - and they appear to be determined to make him their club-record sale.
