Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo is still determined to change his fortunes at the club and is not looking to leave in January amid links with Chelsea.

The Brazilian is finding life difficult under new Los Blancos head coach Xabi Alonso. Having barely played at the Club World Cup, Rodrygo was widely expected to leave Real Madrid in the summer.

However, he opted to turn down moves to Arsenal and Man City in favour of fighting for his place. Several months on, his situation still hasn't improved, and it increasingly looks as though he is fighting a losing battle.

As AS points out, the 24-year-old has only played 25 per cent of the available minutes under Alonso, and this is clearly not good enough for a player capable of being one of the world's best.

With the January window approaching, speculation surrounding Rodrygo's future has once again been rampant in recent weeks. The likes of Chelsea and Tottenham have been heavily linked with the Brazil international, although the interest from Spurs continues to be downplayed.

Rodrygo won't leave Real Madrid

It has been claimed that Chelsea are preparing a January offer for the winger, but the above-mentioned report insists that a January exit is highly unlikely as Rodrygo is still trying to improve his fortunes at Real Madrid.

The gifted attacker has not yet given up on convincing Alonso and will continue to fight for his place until the end of the season. If, and only if, his lack of playing time continues, will he begin to consider a departure.

It remains to be seen if this is the right course of action in a World Cup season. His former Real Madrid mentor Carlo Ancelotti has included Rodrygo in his latest Brazil squad, but will he continue to be picked if he barely plays?

For now, Rodrygo is hell-bent on making it at Real Madrid. But it seems increasingly likely that the talented winger will have to give up on this dream before long.
