The Brazilian has only started two Premier League matches in 2025-26, while he is yet to be included in the starting XI in the Champions League.

As a result, Man Utd have rekindled their interest in the 21-year-old ahead of the January transfer window, as per multiple outlets.

The Red Devils were among the clubs eager to land Santos this summer, alongside West Ham United and Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, and they have re-added him to their transfer shortlist amid their pursuit of a new central midfielder in 2026.

However, TEAMtalk have confirmed that Chelsea won’t sanction a sale next year, especially not to a direct Premier League rival. The Blues view him as a key player in their youth-centred project and they believe Santos will grow into a vital piece of Enzo Maresca’s system over the next few years.

Andrey Santos to stay at Chelsea

Although Santos isn’t yet a consistent regular in the Premier League, he has played the entire 90 minutes in both of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup fixtures so far this term, and he scored his first goal for the club versus Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.

The Brazilian struck a sweet left-footed effort past Jose Sa in the fifth minute, before grabbing an assist for compatriot Estevao Willian after excellent pressing in the Wolves half.

After the match, Santos told Globo Esporte: “The first goal is always very special. I’d been trying for some time, but something was always missing.

“Maresca gives me freedom to arrive in attack as a surprise element, like I did at Strasbourg. This time, it worked, and I’m happy to help the team.”

He added: “I work hard every day to evolve, to understand the game better and to improve my weaknesses. It’s been a special start to the season. I hope to grow and continue this process.”
