The 24-year-old is closing in on a lucrative new long-term contract with the North London giants. Saka will become the latest Arsenal star to be handed improved terms after helping the club reach the summit of the Premier League in recent years.

Saka is expected to become one of the Gunners' best-paid players with a pay rise that has been described as 'record-breaking.' Recent reports suggest that the winger is 'one step away' from signing his new deal.

The England star is currently tied to Arsenal until 2027. His extension will see him commit his future to the club until 2030, but transfer insider Fabrizio Romano would not be surprised if Saka were to go down as one of the Premier League's great one-club men.

Asked by GIVEMESPORT if Saka could spend most or perhaps all of his career with his boyhood club, Romano answered in the affirmative. "We can’t predict the future, but that is the intention. Saka and Arsenal are very happy together, also for the long term," the Italian said.

Saka already an Arsenal great

Saka has developed into one of the world's best attacking players in recent years, but after he first broke into the senior side, he was used as a makeshift left-back.

The 24-year-old, born in London, has been with Arsenal since the age of seven and made his first-team debut in 2018. Last month, Saka played his 200th game and recorded his 100th goal contribution for Arsenal in the Premier League.

Saka is the youngest player in club history to reach 50 goals in the Premier League, and he has twice been named the Gunners' Player of the Season.

The winger's status as a club legend will be cemented if he manages to get Arsenal over the hump in the Premier League or Champions League this season. He has scored six goals in 14 appearances this season after overcoming a hamstring problem.
