Cristiano Ronaldo is set to extend his contract with Al-Nassr, potentially for two more years, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Portuguese megastar's current deal with the Saudi outfit expires on 30 June, but Al-Nassr have been frantically trying to keep hold of him. Ronaldo is still regularly scoring for the Riyadh giants despite being 40 years old.
Getting Ronaldo to extend would also be crucial for the Saudi Pro League as a whole as the division's current TV rights cycle is coming to an end, which means that big names are required to convince potential sponsors, with Saudi football so far failing to live up to expectations.

Prior to the Club World Cup, there was a real chance of Ronaldo departing Al-Nassr as FIFA president Gianni Infantino was lobbying for the Real Madrid and Man Utd legend to be part of the tournament in the US.
Ronaldo was linked with the likes of Botafogo, Wydad Casablanca and even local rivals Al-Hilal, but he ultimately opted against signing a short-term deal with a Club World Cup side.
Ronaldo to extend Al-Nassr contract
According to Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo is now on the verge of extending his contract with Al-Nassr by a further season and, potentially, even for two years should the player wish to do so.
Ronaldo already hinted at an extended stay at Al-Nassr after winning the Nations League with Portugal earlier this month, and he is now set to put pen to paper on a new deal, with only final details to be ironed out.
Romano did not disclose the finances involved, but it was previously suggested that the deal would be worth up to €400 million. His decision to extend also suggests that the veteran has no intention of retiring anytime soon.
Barring any catastrophic developments, such as a long-term injury, Ronaldo will likely take part in next year's World Cup in the US with Portugal, which would be his sixth participation in football's biggest international tournament.
