Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has greenlit a transfer to Inter, according to Italian media.

The Dane is looking to leave the Red Devils this summer after failing to live up to expectations in his two seasons at Old Trafford. Hojlund cost almost €80 million in 2023, but he is coming off a campaign in which he scored just four Premier League goals.

Man Utd are revamping their attack this summer, with Matheus Cunha already announced and Bryan Mbeumo seemingly on his way. They will also attempt to add a reliable striker, although it is not yet clear who their main target is after missing out on Liam Delap.

Opportunities could therefore be hard to come by for Hojlund next season, but at 22, the striker needs to play regularly and feel the backing of his manager and teammates.

That is why he is reportedly 'pushing' for a move away, and a return to Italy appears to be on the cards after a previous stint at Atalanta. It was recently claimed that Juventus are the side with the most advanced interest, but it seems that Hojlund has his heart set on a different move.

Hojlund wants Inter

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Hojlund has approved a move to Champions League finalists Inter, who are currently in the process of appointing former player Cristian Chivu as the successor to Al-Hilal-bound Simone Inzaghi.

The Italian outlet claims that Hojlund and Inter have been in talks for several weeks, and that the player is open to the move. Personal terms have not yet been finalised, but they shouldn't be an issue after the Dane gave the green light for the transfer.

A bigger issue is thrashing out a deal with Man Utd, who would prefer to sell Hojlund immediately to fund their summer business. However, Inter are unlikely to be in a position to afford a permanent signing.

The Nerazzurri would prefer an initial loan with an option or even obligation to purchase Hojlund in 2026. Inter are expected to hold fresh talks with Man Utd shortly in a bid to reach an agreement.
