Manchester United have reportedly reached a full agreement over a new four-year deal with academy wonderkid Jayden Ngwashi, while JJ Gabriel is also set to pen fresh terms with the Red Devils.

Ngwashi, who featured for England’s U17 side earlier this year and is also eligible for Italy, has agreed a new contract that will run until 2029.

That is according to transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X: “Manchester United agree new four year deal with 16 year old talent Jayden Ngwashi as part of the Academy.

“Despite proposals from English and European clubs, he’s decided to stay.”

In addition to Ngwashi, Man Utd are also close to tying JJ Gabriel down to a new contract.

The 14-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Europe and multiple “top clubs” are eager to sign him, according to Romano.

However, the teenager is now on the verge of signing a new two-year deal. Gabriel was expected to leave Old Trafford amid significant interest in his services, but he is set to remain at the club following crucial meetings with Jason Wilcox and Matt Hargreaves, as per The Daily Mail.

Man Utd’s summer transfer plans

While Man Utd are working hard to retain the biggest prospects in their academy, they are also focused on bolstering the first-team squad available to Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils have already completed the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha for a fee of €74.2 million, while they are pushing to finalise a deal for Brentford superstar Bryan Mbeumo amid significant competition from Tottenham Hotspur.

Signing a new central midfielder is also a priority for Amorim, although Man Utd have reportedly accepted defeat in their pursuit of Atalanta star Ederson due to his lofty price tag.

Meanwhile, the club are eyeing a possible move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, with Andre Onana’s future at Old Trafford currently uncertain following a disappointing campaign in between the sticks.
