Liverpool have identified a number of high-profile targets over the past few months and they are aiming to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts during the 2025-26 season.

Last summer, Liverpool signed Giorgi Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa, although the former was sent back to Valencia on loan and the latter barely featured, while they sold both Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho to Brentford.

This year, Liverpool have already completed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen stars Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz as well as Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, while Trent Alexander-Arnold has joined Real Madrid, and Caoimhin Kelleher became the third Reds player to join Brentford in the past year.

Liverpool’s potential incomings and outgoings

Liverpool have managed to get the majority of their summer business done before 1 July, but there are still some areas the Reds would like to strengthen.

Liverpool are eager to sign a new centre forward, and they are interested in a host of options, such as Newcastle's Alexander Isak, Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, Paris Saint-Germain’s Goncalo Ramos and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.

Centre-back is another area that could be strengthened as Ibrahima Konate is stalling on a new contract, so he will be a free agent next year. Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi is a player hugely appreciated by the Reds.

Meanwhile, several players are set to be sold by Liverpool this summer.

Darwin Nunez is almost guaranteed to depart Anfield after an underwhelming three-year stint at the club, and he is currently in talks with Napoli. Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott, Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez have all been linked with exits.

Luis Diaz is wanted by Barcelona and clubs in Saudi Arabia, but Liverpool have reportedly decided to keep him at the club for at least another year.

Andrew Robertson has fielded interest from Atletico Madrid, while Kostas Tsimakas’ future is also uncertain.
