Fabrizio Romano transfer news: Osimhen BOMB, TWO new Chelsea bids, Arsenal striker TALKS

Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has dropped updates on the biggest stories of the day, including Victor Osimhen, Chelsea making moves and Arsenal’s striker search.
Osimhen rejects Al-Hilal
Romano has confirmed that Osimhen has sensationally knocked back Al-Hilal, putting his future in further doubt.
“We never know with Victor Osimhen, with many surprises on the market in recent years and months. From my understanding, he said no to the last proposal received from Al-Hilal. There was a deal in place between Al-Hilal and Napoli for €75m, but waiting on the player to give the final answer,” Romano told his YouTube channel.
“There were reports that Osimhen was already in agreement with Al-Hilal, but it wasn’t agreed. Now Victor Osimhen has said no.
“What happens now? Galatasaray will try to find a way with Napoli and the player. There will be more clubs in the race because now it’s open again. Let’s see if Al-Hilal try again, maybe improve their proposal.”
Romano also dropped the latest on Al-Hilal’s chase for AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez, which is also at something of a standstill.
“It’s important to mention that they’re also still not in agreement with Theo Hernandez. Al-Hilal have made an important proposal with the Milan left-back but there’s no agreement at this point.”

New Chelsea offer for Maignan
Mike Maignan continues to be a surprise target for Chelsea, who are eager to get a deal over the line by Tuesday.
“Chelsea have presented a new offer for Mike Maignan, the Milan goalkeeper. It’s worth €15m. That’s the bid on the table. My understanding that at the moment it’s not about accepting or rejecting, it’s trying to get talks going between the two clubs,” Romano said.
“There’s no time. Chelsea want a solution for the Maignan story for the Club World Cup. So Chelsea want to find a solution by Tuesday night or they could move on and continue with the goalkeepers they have or maybe look for a new one.
“Chelsea feel like the player wants to go there. So personal terms are not an issue. Now they’re working on a deal with Milan. The two clubs are talking, so let’s see what happens.”
Blues improve Gittens offer
Chelsea are also chasing Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.
“A new bid is coming,” Romano confirms. “The first bid was €35m, rejected by Borussia Dortmund. There’s no club-to-club agreement. But there is an agreement with the player, who will get a seven-year contract, until 2032, all agreed with the boy, who is another former Man City academy player.
“Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, Tosin Adarabioyo and also Liam Delap, the coach Enzo Maresca, so the City mark is on some Chelsea players – and we know how important it is in the conversation.
“Chelsea are accelerating and it’s a story to follow in the next hours because they want to be fast.”
Dortmund race to sign Jobe Bellingham for Club World Cup
Gittens’ replacement in Dortmund looks like being Jobe Bellingham, who has been a leading transfer target for many clubs this summer.
Romano explains: “Another Bellingham is going to Borussia Dortmund. His brother, Jobe, will play for Dortmund, despite interest from Eintracht Frankfurt. It’s a done deal: €33m fixed fee, €5m add-ons, 15% sell-on-clause. The player will travel early next week for medical tests and a contract signing for a five-year deal.
“Jobe Bellingham can't wait to be a new Borussia Dortmund player. He has already met with people of the club preparing for this transfer. And so it's a successful transfer for Borussia Dortmund. An excellent addition for a great talent and another Bellingham.
“It's also a romantic special story, but also an important sale for Sunderland because it's a record sale.
“For Dortmund, it’s one more player for the Club World Cup. They have until Tuesday night to close the deal.”
Courtois to sign new Real Madrid deal
Real Madrid are close to keeping hold of one of their most established stars.
Romano says: “At Real Madrid, there is an agreement imminent for Thibault Courtois over a new deal. What does it mean? It means at the start of July, Real Madrid will offer him a new one-year contract before the current one expires. And my understanding is that Courtois wants to stay because they’re very happy with each other. Real Madrid believe he’s fantastic. So they’ll continue together.”
Arsenal still working on Sesko
A long-running saga has been Arsenal’s pursuit of a new striker, and Romano says there’s no imminent resolution to one player they’re looking at.
“One of the stories of the week will be Benjamin Sesko because Arsenal are prepared to talk again to all parties involved. Arsenal have advanced on him because they had positive contacts during the week with RB Leipzig, the player’s camp but there’s still work to do. There’s still no agreement between Sesko and Arsenal or Leipzig and Arsenal. The work will restart early in the week,” Romano said.
“The player is keen on the move and tempted by the project. Mikel Arteta is obviously a big factor, with sporting director Andrea Berta working on the deal.”
