Everton manager David Moyes has confirmed that he is interested in signing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap this summer.

The 22-year-old is the Premier League's hottest attacking commodity heading into the new transfer window. Delap has established himself as a reliable top-flight scorer, netting 12 goals despite Ipswich suffering relegation back to the Championship.

Due to the Tractor Boys' demotion, Delap will be available for just €35 million this summer, which is seen as a huge opportunity by quite literally every single Premier League club

Naturally, the division's heavyweights have an advantage over Delap's other suitors. Chelsea and Man Utd have been persistently linked with the England youth international in recent weeks, while FootballTransfers understands that he is also one of the options under consideration at Arsenal.

For months, Chelsea were viewed as the clear favourites to sign him, but Man Utd have made him their top priority now, blowing the race wide open again.

Everton - Delap's wildcard option?

However, as mentioned, pretty much every club in the Premier League holds an interest in Delap. Newcastle are also hugely attracted to the former Man City prospect's profile.

In recent days, Everton have been linked with him, too. A move to the Toffees would come as a huge shock, but manager David Moyes has openly admitted that he is indeed interested.

"He would be one who we would certainly have an interest in," Moyes said before admitting: "I think what he probably has to look at will probably be bigger than what we are. So, we would certainly be interested if he was interested in us. That's for sure."

The manager's clarification is important here because it is understood that Delap will prioritise European football when choosing his next club, so Everton clearly have little chance of actually securing his signature.
