The Saudi Pro League is targeting three major Premier League stars ahead of the summer transfer window, with a trio of transfers worth over €250 million being worked upon.

Over the course of the last two years, Saudi has emerged as a big-spending destination capable of signing some of the biggest stars in the game. Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr was the catalyst and a string of huge names have followed, such as Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema.

And it appears that the Pro League has no plans on relenting, with a string of big names earmarked to move to the Middle East this summer.

Bruno Fernandes headlines Saudi wishlist

Foremost among these players that the Saudis are trying to sign, according to Fichajes, is Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes. Although 30 years old, a deal worth a British record fee is possible, meaning that Saudi will pay more than €135m for the Portugal international star.

While the Red Devils are naturally reticent to sell, a deal for Bruno would ease their financial concerns and give Ruben Amorim the flexibility required to snap up his dream attacking trio.

Interestingly, Fichajes reports that a deal of €65m, which seems highly improbable given Fernandes’ importance in Amorim’s plans.

Should this deal fall through, Bruno Guimaraes is a player being earmarked for a transfer. The price of this move is quoted at €140m. Clearly, this would be a massive boost to Newcastle United, who have been frustratingly constrained by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Finally, Aston Villa could sell another player to the Saudi Pro League after offloading Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr in the January transfer window.

Youri Tielemans is wanted by Al-Hilal, who are reportedly willing to pay €45m for the Belgium international star.

Saudi, however, are set to miss out on Kevin De Bruyne, who has given the green light to completing a blockbuster summer move as a free agent.
