Jamie Vardy to Rangers: Leicester legend tipped to complete shock transfer

Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy has been tipped to join Rangers on a Bosman deal this summer.
The 38-year-old will become a free agent when his Leicester contract expires at the end of June and a number of clubs have already expressed their interest in signing him, including Wrexham and multiple teams in both the MLS and the Saudi Pro League.
Vardy sealed his 500th and final Leicester appearance with his 200th goal for the club against Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon to mark the end of a sensational 13-year spell at the King Power Stadium.
Despite his imminent Leicester exit, the former England international, who racked up 26 caps for his country, has already confirmed his desire to extend his playing career, and Ally McCoist has urged Rangers to pursue a deal this summer.
The Scottish giants finished the 2024-25 campaign 17 points behind arch-rivals Celtic, and McCoist believes the addition of Vardy could close the gap next year.
Jamie Vardy to join Rangers?
“Something tells me that he's [Vardy] got something organised,” McCoist told talkSPORT. “Whether it's America or another club, I think he'll have something organised.
“Now, we were having this discussion yesterday, me and my Rangers mates. I would take him in two minutes at Rangers. I really, really would.

“I’d take him in two minutes. I love him, I absolutely love him.”
McCoist then admitted that he even wanted to bring Vardy to Ibrox during his stint as Rangers’ head coach between 2011 and 2014.
“I tried to sign him, I couldn't get any money,” the ex-Scotland striker revealed. “I tried to sign him from Fleetwood when I was managing at Rangers and I could not get any money to sign him.
“John Brown was watching him three or four times. He said: ‘You’ve got to get him,’ [but] I couldn't get £200k or whatever it was to buy him.”
