Arsenal join race to sign Kaoru Mitoma

Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Japan international has enjoyed a hugely successful stint at the AMEX Stadium and he is being monitored by a plethora of top European clubs ahead of a possible move this summer.
Mitoma has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 35 Premier League appearances so far this season, and Arsenal are interested in signing him ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is reportedly assessing “various profiles and candidates” amid their pursuit of a new winger and Mitoma is now being monitored as a potential target.
Sky Germany and BILD have previously reported that Mitoma is on Bayern Munich’s transfer shortlist for this summer, Liverpool have been tipped to pursue a deal due to the uncertain futures of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez and Chelsea are long-term admirers too.
However, Arsenal are understood to be eager to acquire the 28-year-old’s signature as they look to bolster the attacking options at Mikel Arteta’s disposal.
The Gunners are actively chasing a new left winger and they have added Mitoma to their list of potential options, which already contains the likes of Nico Williams (Athletic Club), Jamie Gittens (Borussia Dortmund), Rafael Leao (AC Milan) and Rodrygo (Real Madrd).
Sky Germany claim that Rodrygo is Arsenal’s “dream” target, although his wage demands are a major stumbling block, while reports indicate that he wants to work with Xabi Alonso in pre-season before deciding whether or not to leave Real Madrid.

Kaoru Mitoma to join Arsenal?
Mitoma has just two years remaining on his current contract at Brighton, and the Seagulls may therefore be forced to sell him if they receive a suitable offer this summer.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side rejected several lucrative bids from the Saudi Pro League in January, but they could reconsider their stance on offloading Mitoma if Arsenal lodge an offer in excess of his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), which stands at €50.6 million.
