Real reject chance to make record sale

Los Blancos were already very close to his arrival in the summer of 2022, but Mbappé decided at the last minute to extend his contract in Paris. The arrival of Mbappé means that the prospect of playing time

before Rodrygo diminishes.

With the offer of 120 million euros, Rodrygo could have become the most expensive outgoing Real Madrid transfer of all time.

That record is still held by Cristiano Ronaldo: the Portuguese left Madrid for Juventus in the summer of 2018 after nine years, who were willing to pay no less than 117 million euros for him. The 39-year-old Portuguese now plays for the Saudi Al-Nassr.

Rodrygo has been playing for Real Madrid since the summer of 2019, which took him over from Santos for 45 million euros.

This season, the 22-time international played 48 matches for the Spanish champions, scoring 17 goals and providing 9 assists.

On June 1, he will play the Champions League final with his club: Borussia Dortmund will be the opponent in Wembley Stadium.
