Ivan Toney has delivered a brutal snub to Arsenal and Chelsea by admitting that he hopes to join Real Madrid this summer.

Arsenal and Chelsea are reported to be going head to head for Toney this summer, with Brentford set to sell the striker as his contract expires in 2025.

However, in an interview with Sky Sports, Toney revealed that the club he hopes Brentford sell him to this summer is neither Arsenal nor Chelsea, but Real Madrid.

What did Toney say?

“If Brentford were to sell me, they make their money, I'll move to Madrid, then it's all good," Toney told Sky Sports, before he revealed his other objectives for the rest of the season.

“We start winning games. We win every game from now for the rest of the season.

“I score 20 goals. We've got nine games, or something like that, left, so we keep nine clean sheets. The job's a good'un.

“I'm in the mix for the Euros and we win the Euros."

Toney was one of the hottest properties in the January transfer window, with Arsenal and Chelsea both keen to buy him.

The 27-year-old ended up staying at Brentford, but Brentford manager Thomas Frank has since admitted that it is virtually certain that Toney will be sold at the end of the campaign.

Chelsea and Arsenal - and also Newcastle - have made the signing of a top striker one of their main priorities for the summer transfer window.

The two London sides also have other targets on their shortlist such as Victor Osimhen and Joshua Zirkzee.

However, Toney has now publicly admitted he would rather move to Madrid.

Toney missed the first half of this campaign due to a betting ban but returned to playing in January.

He has since been in decent form, scoring four goals in 10 games.
