Bayern were thrashed 3-0 by Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday in a top-of-the-table clash, putting the Bavarians’ chances of winning the Bundesliga very much under threat.

The unbeaten Leverkusen, managed by Xabi Alonso, are now five points clear at the top, with 13 games of the season remaining.

Bayern have won the last 11 Bundesliga titles and had been red-hot favourites to make it 12 at the start of the campaign.

Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham last summer for a club record fee of over €100 million. Meanwhile, Dier joined Kane at Bayern in January on loan from Spurs.

Both Kane - who individually has had a brilliant season for Bayern and scored 28 goals in 28 games in all competitions - and Dier have never won a trophy in their careers.

Meanwhile, it has often been cruelly noted by fans of other clubs at how few trophies Tottenham have won in recent decades. Indeed, they have not won the league for 63 years, the FA Cup for 33 years, or a trophy of any kind for 16 years - their last honour being the League Cup in 2008.

And fans took to social media to mock Kane, Dier and Tottenham after the defeat to Leverkusen, joking that they had turned the winning machine of Bayern into Spurs.
