Dean Henderson has reportedly annoyed Erik ten Hag, according to reports.

The Manchester United goalkeeper has got under the skin of the Dutchman, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Henderson spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest but has since returned to Man Utd.

But there is no indication that he will be given a starting role next season, with David de Gea’s future up in the air.

Indeed, it is unlikely that the stopper forces himself back into Ten Hag's starting XI.

Henderson had previously admitted that he did not want the Man Utd boss to watch him training as he was confident he would be kept at Old Trafford as competition for his first-choice.

The 26-year-old was able to join Forest and it is thought that they will try and push for a permanent signing.

"I didn't really want the manager to see me in training because I knew he'd probably want to keep me," Henderson told TalkSport.

"I told all the hierarchy: "I need to go and play football. I don't want to be playing second fiddle. And it panned out so I was almost gone before the manager came in."

Erik ten Hag’s video call

It is also believed that Henderson turned down the opportunity to return to Old Trafford midway through the season, with Ten Hag having a video call with him to see if he would be open to making a move back in January.

But Henderson told Ten Hag he wanted to see out the season at Forest.

The conversation was the first time the two men had spoken and Ten Hag thought that him remaining with the side was counter-productive.

Man Utd then signed Jack Butland on loan from Crystal Palace.
