The manager wants to bring in another right-back and has identified Bayer Leverkusen’s Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong as an option.

Man Utd want Frimpong

According to Sky in Germany, Ten Hag has made Frimpong one of his top priorities for the January transfer market as he looks to strengthen in that area.

Frimpong is currently with the Dutch side at the World Cup after a series of fine displays for the Bundesliga outfit and his reputation across European football is growing.

Diogo Dalot is currently Manchester United’s first-choice right-back having made that place his own over the course of the season but his future is still unclear.

He is in the final months of his contract and news of a renewal is unclear with the likes of Barcelona and Milan interested in the player’s services.

Other than that, Aaron Wan-Bissaka hasn’t impressed Ten Hag and is yet to play this season with an exit from the club looking likely at some point in the next few months.

Manchester United do have Ethan Laird out on loan but Ten Hag would prefer a long-term solution to help their case and Frimpong is seen as the ideal target.

The 21-year-old has a contract with Leverkusen until the summer of 2025 so Manchester United may have to fork out a fair chunk of money to land the player.
