Mason Mount has been linked with a move to Liverpool as contract negotiations at Chelsea seem to have hit a wall in recent weeks.

Mount has been at Chelsea since he was a child and made it through the club’s academy ranks before joining the first team and is now an essential member of the side.

However, he remains one of the club’s lesser-paid players and that has been a problem when it comes to contract negotiations, with belief that he could leave the club soon.

Liverpool are one of the interested clubs and could send a player or two the other way in the hope of bringing the English midfielder over to Anfield.

Three players could be offered for Mount

Mount has a contract until 2024 but if Chelsea do sell him, it would have to be next year in order to avoid losing him on a free the year after.

Liverpool could offer one of three players to Chelsea in a bid to get a deal done for Mount and one of them could be Naby Keita.

The Guinean midfielder is in the final few months of his contract and it’s unclear whether he will extend with Liverpool willing to let him leave come the end of the season.

If Liverpool do let him go, it would have to be in January and Chelsea were known to have been interested in him in the past.

Another player they could give in a deal is Joe Gomez – the defender hasn’t been in the best form this season but he can still prove to be valuable.

Chelsea are in need of defensive reinforcements and Gomez could be a worthwhile addition to their squad at little cost compared to what they would spend.

Roberto Firmino is another player that could be offered although this may not be the best deal to make given his importance to Liverpool this season.

Chelsea, though, may be interested given their need to improve in attack and could accept the offer if it ever arrives from the Reds.
