The FA Cup is well and truly heating up, with the fifth round draw of the 2021/22 FA Cup having taken place on Sunday morning, ahead of the Liverpool vs Cardiff City fourth round tie. This is the last 16 stage of the tournament, so there are eight fixtures and the fans of teams still in the tournament will be wondering when exactly their matches will take place.

While the FA hasn’t yet confirmed the dates and kick-off times of the fifth round matches, partly because there are three fourth round ties still to be completed, we do know that the fifth round of the 2021/22 FA Cup will be a midweek round. The games will take place on Tuesday March 1st, Wednesday March 2nd and Thursday March 3rd.

There are no replays at this stage of the competition, so these ties will go to extra time and then penalties if needed. With the games taking place in midweek, though, some of the ties might feel like a replay.

There are five lower league clubs already into the fifth round, after 13 of the 16 fourth round ties were completed, so it is a shame for travelling fans of these teams that the games are midweek and that travel arrangements could be complicated.

Who got who in the FA Cup fifth round draw?

With three games still to be decided, the draw has already taken place for the fifth round and it was as follows:

Luton Town vs Chelsea

Crystal Palace vs Stoke City

Peterborough vs Man City

Liverpool or Cardiff City vs Norwich City

Southampton vs West Ham

Middlesbrough vs Tottenham

Nottingham Forest or Leicester vs Huddersfield

Everton vs Bournemouth or Boreham Wood

There are three matches still to be played, with Liverpool hosting Cardiff on Sunday lunchtime, Nottingham Forest meeting Leicester on Sunday afternoon and Bournemouth taking on Boreham Wood on Sunday evening.
