The 2023-24 season was a fantastic one for Inter Milan, at least on the domestic front.

The Nerazzurri surged to the Scudetto, blowing away the rest of Serie A in what eventually became a one-horse race.

However, having reached the 2022-23 final, Inter disappointed in the Champions League as they fell to a shock penalty shootout defeat to Atletico Madrid in the last-16.

Piotr Zielinski (Napoli)

Piotr Zielinski’s exit from Napoli at the end of his contract has now been confirmed.

The Poland midfielder ended contract renewal talks with the soon-to-be dethroned Serie A champions at the end of last year.

He was then dropped and left out of Napoli’s Champions League knockout stage squad as punishment.

In Italy, all media are unanimous that he has already signed a pre-contract with Inter.

Mehdi Taremi (Porto)

The same is the case for Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, with all respected sources in Portugal and Italy confirming that a deal with Inter is done.

Inter have been looking to strengthen their attacking depth this summer as Marko Arnautovic and Alexis Sanchez have proved to be insufficient backups up Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram this term.

Taremi has proven one of the most reliable strikers in Europe for Porto over the last five years.

Albert Gudmundsson (Genoa)

It is possible that Inter could sign not one but two attackers this summer.

Albert Gudmundsson is very much liked by Inter after a breakout season in Serie A.

The Iceland star can play in a two man attack, as winger or an attacking midfielder, and has been one of the best players in the league this past season.

However, with Genoa asking for €30 million, this price tag may scare Inter off. There is also interest from other big Serie A and Premier League clubs.

Alessandro Buongiorno (Torino)

Inter could potentially move for a new centre back in the summer. The backline contains a number of older players such as Stefan De Vrij, Matteo Darmian and Francesco Acerbi.

Acerbi’s future is not certain, either, following the recent racism storm with Juan Jesus.

If Acerbi leaves, Inter could step up the chase for Torino’s Alessandro Buongirono, who has statistically perhaps been the best centre back in Serie A this season.

However, he will be expensive at over €40 and there is interest also from Milan, Juventus and Napoli.

Mario Hermoso (Atletico Madrid)

Inter could instead opt to go for a cheapter centre back option rather than the very expensive Buongiorno.

Mario Hermoso will be available on a free transfer this summer as his contract expires.

Hermoso has interest from a number of clubs in Italy and around Europe so there will be lots of competition.

But Inter have shown in recent years to regularly shop in the Bosman transfer market.
