The Frenchman currently lives in Madrid but still owns a property in Paris where he grew up. The criminal in question had a list of 26 wealthy people in France who were set to be targeted by a network of perpetrators throughout the country, reports Le Parisien.

The affluent areas of Neuilly-sur-Seine, Saint-Brice-sous-Forêt (Val-d'Oise) and Santenay (Côte-d'Or) were of particular interest to the criminal network.

Clement L, also known as Lester Z, was imprisoned for an armed robbery when officers searched his cell and found details of 26 planned home invasions.

"This boy was already in prison for serious facts and we find him in a new case involving a renowned rapper and footballer. It is only isolation in prison that can make him understand things since he leads a deconstructed and criminal life, " said the Advocate General this Wednesday morning before the Chamber of Instruction of Versailles, where Clement challenged his isolation measure but also his detention.

In May, the 18-year-old and an accomplice were arrested 30 minutes after an armed robbery which saw them take around 150,000 euros from a local watchmaker's store.

At the time, Clément L was in pre-trial detention for rape and pimping, but also for another case of organised gang robbery.

While in prison after the robbery, he allegedly conducted illegal business via Snapchat. Police discovered information after two mobile phones were discovered.

Clement L, when speaking in court, suggested he was simply a middleman in the kidnapping plans and that is real dream is to become a professional chef.

"I know the facts are serious," he said on Wednesday.

"But I am placed in isolation, I am surrounded by fools and terrorists and I do not think it will improve me. I really want to become a cook, it's been a dream since I was little."

His father lives in Seine-et-Marne and his mother in Ireland. In addition to the armed robbery conviction, he also has narcotics convictions on his criminal record.

As for Mbappe, he has started the new season in fine form and fired a hat-trick past Real Sociedad last week.
