Cristiano Ronaldo's partner Georgina Rodriguez has received support from an unlikely source as she takes on social media trolls who have made comments about her appearance.
Rodriguez and Ronaldo have been together since 2016, after meeting while she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid. They share two daughters, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda, while Georgina also helps raise Ronaldo's other three children. In 2022, the couple suffered a personal tragedy when one of their newborn twins, a baby boy, died during childbirth, while Bella survived.
Though she is best known as being Ronaldo's partner, she is a successful businesswoman in her own right. She's an established model, entrepreneur and social media personality, with her Netflix series I Am Georgina offering a glimpse into their family life.
Recently, she took to social media to chastise online trolls who have started to make comments about her appearance.
"My body will change, just as every woman’s body does. And I hope it continues to do so for many years, because that will mean I am still alive," she wrote on Instagram.
"I am the mother of six wonderful children; three are girls who will one day grow up to be great women. And if there is one thing I want to teach them—alongside Cris, of whom I am deeply proud for the values he embodies as a father and a man—it is that a person’s worth can never depend on their physical appearance or the opinions of strangers.
"That small dose of positive psychology I try to share with them every day also helps me stay grounded in this world of so much fantasy.

"Lately, I’ve seen all kinds of comments regarding some photos of me on a boat. Some people comment on my body, while others come to my defence…
"I was talking about it with Cris and said:
“'It worries me that people are calling me fat now, because my livelihood depends on my image.'
'And he replied:
“'You don’t live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a killer body, a mother, a good person, successful, and someone who lives life with love. What more could you want? It’s natural for people to envy you.'
"And we talked about so much more.
"Sometimes we all need someone to remind us of what truly matters.
"The funny thing is, this happens every summer. Every year, my body makes headlines again.
"And I ask myself… where is the standard? Who decides what the 'right' body is? Do we really still think happiness comes in a specific size? I work out because it makes me happy. Because I’m passionate about it. Because that hour at the gym is one of the best parts of my day. It gives me health, peace of mind, discipline, energy, and well-being. It has never been a struggle to lose weight; it has always been a way of taking care of myself.
"I love my curves. I love the freedom of living in the body I choose. In the body that sustains me—that has allowed me to embrace others, create life, fall down, and get back up again. A body that deserves respect, love, and gratitude in every version of itself.
"For me, true success has never been about fitting into a standard that no one knows who invented. True success is living in peace. Surrounding myself with the people I love. Enjoying time with my family and friends. Taking care of my health. Laughing. Learning. Living."
Cristiano responded with a comment in support but there was also support from Antonela Roccuzzo, the wife of his eternal rival, Lionel Messi.
Though simple in her response, Roccuzzo simply replied with three clapping emojis, endorsing the message sent by Rodriguez.
Messi and Roccuzzo first met as children in their hometown of Rosario, Argentina, through Antonela's cousin, Lucas Scaglia, who was one of Messi's closest childhood friends. The Inter Miami star has said he was fond of Antonela from a young age, but the pair were separated when he moved to Barcelona at 13 to pursue his football career.
After several years apart, they reconnected in the mid-2000s and their relationship gradually developed. Although they initially kept their romance private, Messi confirmed they were together in 2009. They married in 2017 and have three sons together.
