Highly-rated talent Noah Darvich is set to leave Barcelona for Stuttgart after just two years at the club, according to German media.

The 18-year-old joined the Blaugrana in 2023 in a highly anticipated €2.5 million deal from Bundesliga side Freiburg. Darvich had just been recognised as one of Germany's biggest talents by receiving the silver Fritz Walter Medal at U17 level, and he arrived in Catalunya with high expectations.

The attacking midfielder was handed a bumper contract with a whopping €1 billion release clause as Barcelona were convinced that he could make the step up to the first team in the not-too-distant future.

However, two years on, and despite being given opportunities to train with the seniors and the appointment of compatriot Hansi Flick, Darvich's playing time has left him disappointed.

The Germany U19 captain has not made a first-team appearance, and he is not even a guaranteed starter for Barca Atletic. Unsurprisingly, then, the youngster is desperate to get out of Barcelona, and a return to Germany is now on the cards.

Darvich set to join Stuttgart

According to Sky Germany and Kicker, Bundesliga side Stuttgart are on the verge of snapping up Darvich in a move that will see him link up with the local rivals of boyhood club Freiburg.

Curiously, Stuttgart appear to have secured a massive bargain as they will reportedly pay less than €1 million for him, which is a far cry from his €1bn release clause and even his initial €2.5m cost.

Darvich has agreed a contract until 2029, with his deal neither containing a release clause nor any concessions to Barcelona. The Blaugrana will not have a buy-back clause or matching rights for the teenager in the future.

Due to his age, Darvich is not expected to be an immediate starter at Stuttgart, but he is seen as a long-term replacement for France international Enzo Millot, who is expected to leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer due to being available for just €20m via a release clause.
