Real Madrid awards 2024-25: Best & worst player, best & worst transfer, top scorer

Real Madrid have certainly endured a dip from their immense 2023-24 campaign and Los Blancos will no doubt be extremely disappointed with how this season has panned out.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side were dumped out of the Champions League by Arsenal and they look set to miss out on the Spanish top flight title to Barcelona. However, there are some positives to be taken from this year.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through our Real Madrid awards for the 2024-25 season.
Real Madrid’s Player of the Season
A number of Real Madrid players have impressed this campaign, but Federico Valverde arguably tops them all.
The Uruguayan isn’t the biggest superstar name at the Santiago Bernabeu, however he is vital to Los Blancos’ system and he has been a consistent performer in a multitude of positions this season.
Valverde has played the entire 90 minutes in the majority of Real Madrid’s games this term and with both Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior suffering a performance drop-off compared to 2023-24, he wins our vote.

Real Madrid’s Flop of the Season
There were a few contenders for this award, but we have chosen Endrick as Real Madrid’s worst player of the season.
The Brazilian arrived at the club as one of the most exciting wonderkids in world football and he simply hasn’t lived up to expectations at all.
Endrick has only started one La Liga match during the entire season, at the time of writing, and his impact has been minimal.
Real Madrid’s Best Transfer
Kylian Mbappe finally completed his dream move to Real Madrid last summer and as one of very few options for this category, he is the clear and obvious choice for Los Blancos’ signing of the season.
The Frenchman’s lack of defensive work and two abject performances versus Arsenal led to a disappointing quarter-final exit in the Champions League, while Real Madrid face an uphill battle to win La Liga.
However, Mbappe has still scored 35 goals in all competitions since his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, at the time of writing, and he has certainly been Real Madrid’s best signing this year.
Real Madrid’s Worst Transfer
On the other hand, the aforementioned Endrick has clearly been Real Madrid’s worst signing this campaign.
Big things were expected of the Brazilian following his arrival from Palmeiras, however his debut season at the Santiago Bernabeu hasn’t gone to plan.
Furthermore, he was the only legitimate candidate for this award given Real Madrid’s only other two summer signings were Mbappe, who is the club’s top goalscorer, and Joselu, who was immediately offloaded to Qatar.
Real Madrid’s Top Scorer
Kylian Mbappe is currently Real Madrid’s top scorer during the 2024-25 season with 35 goals across all competitions.
He has scored 24 goals in La Liga, seven goals in the Champions League, two goals in the Copa del Rey, one goal in the Spanish Super Cup and one goal in the UEFA Super Cup.
