Franck Kessie is not being considered for sale by Barcelona despite the midfielder’s limited playing time at the start of this season.

Kessie joined Barcelona on a free transfer after his contract at Milan expired at the end of last season and he hasn’t had the best time at the Camp Nou.

The Ivorian is seen as a second-choice player in Xavi’s side, which has proven to be a source of frustration and is looking for an exit from the club.

Last season, he was one of the more influential players in the Milan squad, and he would want something like that again at Barcelona in the near future.

Barcelona keen on Kessie

According to Marca, there are offers for Kessie as his agent met up with Barcelona director Matheu Alemany, with two Serie A sides and one Premier League club interested.

Barcelona are eager to keep him on their team because they want to use him as a part of their squad depth, with the likes of Pedri, Gavi, Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong ahead of him on the pecking order.

Additionally, there is a Financial Fair Play issue, as it’s not recommended that they don’t make too many transfers and Barcelona thinks it’s best for him to stay at the Camp Nou.

The 25-year-old has played just 485 minutes with Barcelona over the course of this season, scoring one goal in 13 appearances across all competitions.

Inter are reportedly interested in the player but may face financial complications in getting the deal done, while English clubs such as Fulham and Aston Villa are also keen on a deal.

Whether Kessie remains or leaves Barcelona, it’s clear that he is not happy at the club and wants to be at a place where he can be in a more influential role at his club.
