Barcelona have had a busy transfer window and that has led to a positive start to the season and now, the positivity is set to continue as La Liga have revealed every club’s salary limits.

The club signed some top players from across Europe including Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Kounde and more, and that have led to some good results to start the campaign.

They did have problems registering some players due to the lack of flexibility in their salary cap, with Kounde being a particular example as he missed the first two La Liga games of the season.

Now, though, the situation has changed as La Liga’s new revelations paint a pretty picture for the club, especially if they wish to sign more players next summer.

Barcelona have more to spend

Last season, Barcelona’s salary limit was -€144.35 million, resulting in their issues in signing players and registering them ahead of the start of the league season.

That was the reason the club had to activate some economic levers – the sale of shares of the club’s assets, with percentages of future profits being taken from them, rather than going to Barcelona.

Barcelona activated their first lever at the end of June, with US firm Sixth Street buying 10 percent of the club’s TV rights for 25 years for €267 million.

The second lever came with the sale of more TV rights for €400 million, while the third was the sale of 25 percent of Barca Studios for €100 million.

The fourth and final lever was pulled in August, with a further 25 percent of Barca Studios being sold to Orpheus Media, allowing the club to register all their summer signings in time for the start of the season.

That has helped raise the club’s salary limit to €653.42 million, the second-highest in the league and only slightly behind Real Madrid’s €683.4 million.

This means they will be able to have more freedom in transfer windows in the near future and strengthen the squad in the coming months, giving them a chance to compete for the biggest trophies available.
