Five players who could join Bayern Munich this summer

Bayern Munich boast the largest financial backing in the Bundesliga and they are expected to bolster their first-team squad with a number of high-profile signings this year.
Vincent Kompany oversaw the arrivals of Michael Olise and Joao Palhinha, among others, last summer, and he is set to be backed in the market yet again in 2025.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through five players who could join Bayern Munich this summer.

Rafael Leao (AC Milan)
With Bayern having missed out on Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams this summer, the German giants are in the market for a new marquee signing to strengthen their attacking midfield.
Bayern have money to spend and their next target could be Rafael Leao, who may look to leave Milan after they missed out on European football for next season.
Leao would certainly command a high fee but Bayern have shown a willingness to spend on the right player for the right fee and the Portuguese international may make a huge transfer to the Bundesliga this summer.

Bart Verbruggen (Brighton)
Manuel Neuer is now 39 years old and although he signed a new one-year contract in February, Bayern will need to sign a replacement shortly.
Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen has reportedly been identified as a potential option by the Bavarian giants and they could lodge a full-blown pursuit ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
The Dutchman has impressed since his move to the AMEX Stadium in 2023 and he crucially worked with Bayern boss Vincent Kompany during their time together at Anderlecht.
Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea)
Christopher Nkunku was seen as a player capable of taking Chelsea to the next level upon his arrival in 2023, but injuries and poor form have resulted in a fairly underwhelming spell at Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku is behind both Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson in the pecking order under Enzo Maresca, and Bayern could rekindle their interest in the forward after failing to reach an agreement during the January transfer window.
Bayern wanted to sign the France star before his move to Chelsea in 2023 and they could finally land him this summer amid his struggles in west London.
Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen)
Jonathan Tah was expected to join Bayern last summer, but the deal collapsed after Kompany’s side refused to match Bayer Leverkusen’s asking price.
Tah has now joined the club this year, however. His Leverkusen contract was due to expire in July and Bayern opted to sign him one month earlier for a fee of €800k in order to include him in their Club World Cup squad.

Tom Bischof (Hoffenheim)
In addition to Tah, Bayern have also completed the signing of Hoffenheim midfielder Tom Bischof.
He was due to arrive in Bavaria on a free transfer following the expiration of his Hoffenheim contract, but Kompany's side paid €300k to sign him on 9 June before the Club World Cup.
The talented midfielder has been tipped to leave Bayern on loan for the 2025-26 season, although reports indicate that he could play a role in the first-team during his debut campaign.
