Casemiro has enjoyed an illustrious career - but the Brazil international is no stranger to picking up red cards.

The Manchester United midfielder was bought to Old Trafford for his dogged style, with an ambition to inject some vigour into the side - but sometimes that edge has gone against him.

He received his first red card for Real Madrid in 2019. Indeed, having lasted 188 games without a dismissal since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2013, the star was shown the red against Real Valladolid, as Los Blancos beat the side 4-1 on the night.

And in April 2021, Casemiro was given his marching orders against Barcelona.

In injury time, following two yellow cards, the Brazilian was sent off in injury time -

Since joining Man Utd, he has picked up two more. In February, Casemiro was seen 'strangling' Will Hughes during a feisty encounter against Crystal Palace.

The end-of-game brawl saw both clubs subsequently fined £55,000 for their parts in the scuffle.

The incident came about in the 67th minute of the game when Man Utd were 2-0 up, and despite being reduced to ten-men the side managed to see off the win.

And against Southampton in March, Casemiro was given a straight red card for a tackle on Carlos Alcaraz. The referee initially handed out a yellow card, but the referee was quickly advised to check the pitchside monitor.

And after a second look at the offence, the official overturned his decision to leave Man Utd to ten-men.

Casemiro left the field in tears and he will be given a four-game ban for the offence, leaving Man Utd short ahead of their run-in for the close of the season.
