Sancho 'over the moon' but prefers to stay silent on Man Utd move

Jadon Sancho insists he does not want to talk about Manchester United while England are bidding for Euro 2020 glory.

United have agreed a £73 million deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign the winger, pending a medical, after the international tournament.

It is a move that will end a long pursuit from the Old Trafford club which they failed to get over the line prior to last season.

United fans are understandably thrilled with the signing, which has been backed by Sancho’s England team-mate and the captain of his next club Harry Maguire.

After only playing a total of six minutes for England in their first four games at the Euros, Sancho was handed a start for the quarter-final against Ukraine.

Sancho was lively as he played the full match, with Maguire on the scoresheet along with Harry Kane – who netted twice – and Jordan Henderson in a 4-0 England win.

And Sancho stressed England were his focus when he was asked about joining United after the match, calling his first start at a major tournament "special".

"To be fair, I don't want to talk about Manchester United," he said to BBC Radio5 Live.

"Right now I just want to focus on England.

"I'm feeling over the moon. This was must-win and I'm just happy to have got an opportunity to play.

"This is a special moment for me.

"Every time I haven't been playing I've been going back to training and been giving it everything.

"I've just been focusing on myself while I've been at England. I've always been ready if I needed to come on.

"We knew this was going to be a big game, Ukraine are a very good side. I'm delighted."
