James Shearman

James Shearman

James Shearman has been a regular writer for FootballTransfers since its establishment in November 2020. An expert in Premier League football, James typically produces articles on the ‘big six’ clubs. He particularly enjoys writing feature pieces, such as ranking the importance of past signings or predicting the success of future deals.

Prior to joining the team, he showcased his passion for fantasy football by providing weekly tips for an FPL podcast. He also wrote predicted lineups and statistical pieces for sister site FootballCritic.

James recently graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a degree in Multimedia Sports Journalism. There, he covered a multitude of sports, including golf, cricket, and horse racing. He also interviewed local hero Eddie the Eagle ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics for the university website and radio station.

Outside of journalism, James is a keen golfer, cricketer and six-a-side football player. A Chelsea and Leyton Orient fan, he has also attended several foreign football matches, such as Malmo and Rayo Vallecano.
