The Red Devils completed the much-anticipated transfer of Sesko from Leipzig on Saturday to take their summer spending to close to €250 million.

But United are not finished there. They are trying to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton and CaughtOffside reports that they are also exploring the possibility of bringing in Dominic Calvert-Lewin from free agency.

The giant striker is currently a free agent after his contract at Everton expired at the end of June.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed last month that Calvert-Lewin was a potential signing for United this summer.

Romano said that Calvert-Lewin has been offered to United, who have registered the approach and the costs of bringing the player to Old Trafford.

And CaughtOffside adds that United are now seriously exploring the possibility of bringing in the giant striker as a backup option to Sesko.

Newcastle, West Ham, Sunderland and clubs in Europe and the Middle East are also interested.

This news further underlines how Man Utd see no future for Rasmus Hojlund at the club.

It is unanimously reported that United have made it clear that Hojlund needs to leave, and would even be open to an initial loan deal.

AC Milan are the club pushing the most for Hojlund right now, but the player is still insisting on staying and fighting for his place, despite again playing no minutes in Saturday's friendly with Fiorentina.

Calvert-Lewin spent nine seasons at Everton, scoring 71 goals in 274 games.

He was one of England’s most admired strikers a few years back, even scoring four goals in 11 caps for his country.

However, he has struggled with injury problems in recent years that have derailed his career.

Still only 28, Calvert-Lewin could be a cheap option for United this summer.
