Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.

The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha, with Man City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.

With the Club World Cup starting in a few days, clubs had to sign players before 10th June to ensure they could play in that tournament, so we did see some big deals happen earlier than usual this year.

Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:

  • Will Viktor Gyokeres leave Sporting CP?
  • Who will sign Victor Osimhen?
  • How much can Barcelona spend?
  • Will top players want to join Man Utd?
  • Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Big departure at Barca?

Man Utd prefer Sesko to Watkins

Man Utd are now pushing hard for Benjamin Sesko as they want to sign the Slovenian ahead of Ollie Watkins.

Ruben Amorim is keen for a new centre-forward this summer after Rasmus Hojlund's troubles last season and United suddenly went in the hunt for Sesko after Arsenal signed Viktor Gyokeres instead.

Antony rejects return to Brazil

Antony has rejected the opportunity to return to Brazil.

Man Utd are desperate to get rid of the winger, who has been a major flop at Old Trafford since his big-money switch from Ajax a few years ago.

Sao Paulo and Botafogo were interested, as well as clubs from Saudi Arabia, but Antony has his heart set on a permanent switch to Real Betis following his successful loan spell in the second half of last season. (Estadio Deportivo)

Palace boss not happy with transfer business

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is not happy with the club's transfer business this summer.

"We haven’t made the most of the transfer window so far.," he told Kronen Zeitung.

"I was promised that we would be more active and bring in the new players earlier this year. As of now, I have 17 outfield players. I hope we don’t lose any more. If that happens and we get four new ones on deadline day like last year, another false start is possible."

So far, Palace have kept hold of star men Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi.

Man City reject Forest's McAtee bid

Man City have rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for James McAtee.

We previously reported that seven sides were interested in the player - Forest, Crystal Palace, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankurt.

Forest's £25 million (€29m) bid wasn't enough as City are holding out for a bigger fee due to the interest in the player. (Sky Sports)

Dortmund interested in Trossard

Borussia Dortmund are interested in Leandro Trossard, reports Florian Plettenberg.

The transfer expert wrote on X: "Borussia Dortmund are monitoring Leandro Trossard. The 30 y/o winger also has two concrete offers from Premier League clubs. A move in this window is possible. He is under contract at Arsenal until 2027."

The Gunners have signed Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres as attacking reinforcements this summer and reportedly want another winger, so Trossard is falling down the pecking order at the Emirates.
