Fabrizio Romano confirms second Arsenal bid for Cristhian Mosquera

Arsenal will make a second bid for Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
The Gunners have already had an opening offer for Mosquera rejected by the Spanish giants.
FootballTransfers reported on Tuesday that Arsenal are set to submit a second bid of €18 million.
Steve Kay added, though, that Valencia still value the highly-rated defender at €22m and Arsenal could therefore be forced to increase their offer further in order to finalise a deal.
Our exclusive of an incoming second bid by Arsenal has now been confirmed by Romano.
What did Romano say?
“Valencia have offered a new deal to Cristhian Mosquera with an important salary. My understanding, guys, is that Cristhian Mosquera's desire is very clear - Arsenal," Romano told his YouTube channel.
“Cristhian Mosquera wants to play for Arsenal. Now it's on Valencia and Arsenal to reach an agreement on the transfer fee. The first bid, 14-15 million euros, got rejected.
“Arsenal will be back to the table with a new proposal. So for sure the conversation will continue club to club for Mosquera and the decision of the player is to go to Arsenal. Now Valencia can try their efforts, of course, it's maximum respect for the club, but my feeling is that Cristhian Mosquera is leaning towards a move to Arsenal.
“So that's my understanding, that's my feeling and we will see what's going to happen there. But for sure the attraction of the Arsenal project for this player is something very strong and so it's going to be complicated, I think, for Valencia to convince Mosquera to stay at the club.”
It is widely reported that Arsenal have already agreed terms on a contract with Mosquera, so just a transfer fee with Valencia needs to be sorted to complete the deal.
Mosquera has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €13.9m, which is a low figure largely because his contract with Valencia expires in 2026.
The potential of the player is undeniable, though. Over the course of the last two seasons, he has been a regular in Valencia’s defence, missing only three games in La Liga over the course of this period.
He is also the second-best promising centre-back in world football aged 21 or under, according to data analytics firm SciSports. Only a handful of players are thought to have a higher potential ceiling, including Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi and Ajax’s Jorrel Hato, a player Arsenal have also been linked with this summer.
