Arsenal target Uzun

Arsenal have made contact with the agency of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Can Uzun, CaughtOffside claims.

The Turkey international fielded interest from Galatasaray this summer, but the Turkish giants baulked at Frankfurt's €60 million asking price. The German club have no reason to lower their demands, with the 20-year-old having already scored four goals this season.

Uzun's versatility makes him attractive. He can play as a No.9, a No.10 and as a left-winger. Arsenal have contacted 11WINS to seek information on their client. Intriguingly, it is the same agency that also represents Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, another Gunners target.

Tresoldi won't move in January

However, Arsenal's pursuit of Tresoldi has been frustrated by the news that Club Brugge will not sell him in January.

TEAMtalk writes that the Belgian side have no intention of entertaining mid-season bids for their star forward. Any move will only materialise in the summer.

Brugge want to make Tresoldi their new club-record sale, meaning that he will command a fee north of the €40m Arsenal paid for Christos Tzolis. In addition to the Gunners, the 22-year-old is also being monitored by Chelsea and a host of other suitors.

Man Utd enter Wesley race

The same outlet also asserts that Man Utd have entered the "furious" race for AS Roma full-back Wesley.

The 23-year-old has been one of Roma's standout performers since his arrival last year, impressing with his attacking drive and versatility. A right-back by trade, Wesley has primarily featured on the left.

It is claimed that Man Utd, Arsenal and Newcastle are showing the "strongest interest" in the Brazil international. Roma value Wesley at up to €60m, and it would likely take more than that to sign him in January.

Kone interest remains

Chelsea and Liverpool remain interested in AS Roma midfielder Manu Kone, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The France international was a key target for Chelsea this summer, with the report noting that the Blues even lodged a €60m bid. However, at that point, Roma were no longer looking to sell Kone.

However, he will likely be offloaded next summer as his sale could unlock new signings for the Italian side. Besides Chelsea, long-standing admirers Liverpool are also still in the picture to sign Kone, having tracked him since his time at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Acheampong dithering

Josh Acheampong is "cautious" about committing his long-term future to Chelsea, the BBC understands.

Chelsea are willing to hand the 20-year-old an improved seven-year contract to dispel any doubts about their trust in him and to fend off the persistent interest from other clubs. Xabi Alonso convinced him to stay this summer by promising him an important role.

Despite featuring prominently in recent games, Acheampong does not want to rush into a decision, and there are currently no active talks. He wants to see if he can truly become a regular starter before deciding on his future.
