Man Utd go all-in on left-back signing

Man Utd are prioritising the signing of a new left-back over that of a third midfielder, the Manchester Evening News understands.

Having managed to bring in Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, the Red Devils have now taken stock of their situation and financial reality and decided that signing a new left-sided defender is a more pressing need than acquiring a third new midfielder.

Contrary to reports, Fulham star Antonee Robinson is not being seriously considered. Man Utd's current shortlist consists of Lewis Hall (Newcastle), Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal), Jorge Salinas (Racing Santander) and Joaquin Seys (Club Brugge).

Brugge will sell Seys if price is right

Club Brugge manager Ivan Leko has admitted that Joaquin Seys' links with Man Utd make him "proud" and suggested that a deal could be possible at the right price.

The Belgium international is coming off an impressive title-winning season at Brugge and made one appearance for his country at the World Cup. It has been claimed that he could cost as much as €35 million this summer.

"I’m proud that my guys are being linked to those clubs," Leko said of rumours linking Seys with Man Utd, before adding: "If there’s a lot of money on the table, it’s obviously not easy to say no."

Baleba can join Newcastle

Man Utd are willing to let Newcastle sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, as per talkSPORT.

The Cameroon star was Man Utd's top midfield target under Ruben Amorim last summer, but their interest has cooled over the past 12 months. His recent injury effectively ruined any remaining chance of signing him.

This has allowed Newcastle to show interest in the midfielder, and they could do a deal despite his injury. The Magpies believe that they could get him for less than €80m, although it is not clear if Brighton would accept. Either way, Man Utd have no plans to make a move for him.

Leao price slashed

AC Milan have been forced to lower their asking price for wantaway winger Rafael Leao, Sky Italia reports.

The Portugal international has made no secret of his desire to leave the club this summer, and Milan are willing to offload him. While there is no rift between Leao and new manager Ruben Amorim, the latter has approved a potential sale.

So far, however, it has been difficult to find suitors that appeal to Leao and are willing to match Milan's €50m asking price. As a result, the Serie A side will now consider offers in the region of €40m. Leao has been linked with Man Utd, but with Marcus Rashford staying, a deal looks unlikely.
