Xabi Alonso will take charge of his first Premier League fixture against local rivals Fulham on Monday night, with new signings Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix and Marco Palestra all expected to be included in his starting XI at Craven Cottage.

Fellow summer arrivals Valentin Barco, Danny Welbeck and Geovany Quenda, among several others, may feature off the bench, with Alonso boasting a plethora of options due to Chelsea’s bloated first-team squad.

The Blues have strengthened their senior side with 11 new signings so far this summer and it’s understood that player departures are being prioritised for the remainder of the window, with Alonso keen to drastically reduce the size of his squad before the end of Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September.

The likes of Mamadou Sarr, Aaron Anselmino, Mykhailo Mudryk and Axel Disasi are expected to depart on loan, and Chelsea are also eager to offload Omari Kellyman, Deivid Washington and David Datro Fofana, all of whom have made next to no impact since their arrivals at the club.

Meanwhile, the west London giants have placed the aforementioned Jackson, Delap and Guiu on their ‘for-sale’ list following the summer signings of Emmanuel Emegha and Welbeck.

Widespread reports have indicated that all three players will leave permanently before the summer transfer window slams shut, and The Standard have confirmed that Chelsea want €76m (£65m) for Jackson, €58m (£50m) for Delap and €29m (£25m) for Guiu.

Chelsea’s €165m striker plan

Jackson spent last season on loan at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, following a bust-up with ex-Blues boss Enzo Maresca, while Delap and Guiu scored just one Premier League goal between them in 2025-26 as they played back-up to Joao Pedro.

Emegha and Welbeck are set to battle for the second-choice striker role at Stamford Bridge this term and with no European football on offer, Chelsea have decided to sell Jackson, Delap and Guiu if they receive suitable bids for the trio.

Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid are understood to be interested in Jackson, Delap has several suitors in the Premier League, including Everton, while Napoli are currently the frontrunners to secure Guiu’s signature.

However, Chelsea have just over a week until Deadline Day and they therefore face a race against the clock to offload all three players.
