FootballTransfers features valuations for more than 240,000 professional footballers from over 250 leagues. The Estimated Transfer Values (ETV) are calculated using a machine learning model trained on approximately 600,000 historical transfers. Furthermore, the values are updated every month.

It is the largest and most accurate database of transfer values in the world.

Search directly for your favorite player

Don't feel like endlessly searching through news reports or squad lists? Then use the player finder from FootballTransfers. Search for Lamine Yamal, Erling Haaland, Frenkie de Jong, Virgil van Dijk, or a talent from the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, for example.

On every player page, you will find much more than just an estimated transfer value.

What you can find on a player profile

ElementWhat does it tell us?
ETVThe current estimated transfer value of the player
ETV rangeThe margin for error
SkillAn indication of the player's current level based on in-game data
PotentialThe expected maximum level during his career
Contract durationHow long the player is contracted to his current club
StatisticsMatches, minutes, goals, assists and cards
Transfer historyPrevious clubs, transfer fees and loan periods

You can also view similar players. This is useful when you want to know which footballers have roughly the same level, playing style, or potential.

What is the difference between ETV and market value?

Transfermarkt and FootballTransfers do not use the same method. Transfermarkt itself states that a market value is not equivalent to the actual transfer fee paid. The primary goal there is to arrive at an expected value, partly based on market value discussions and assessments.

FootballTransfers uses the Estimated Transfer Value, or ETV for short. This model uses, among other things, age, position, performance, playing time, contract duration, league level, experience, Skill, and Potential.

An ETV is never a guarantee that a club will receive exactly that amount. A buyout clause, bidding war, injury, or expiring contract can significantly influence the final transfer fee. Therefore, view it primarily as a data-driven benchmark.

The current Skill and the future Potential

A high transfer value does not automatically mean that a player already belongs to the absolute world elite. Young players can be worth a lot, especially due to their expected development.

The Skill shows a player's current level. This takes into account factors such as his influence on the team, minutes played, the type of match, and the strength of the opposition. More recent matches carry more weight than older performances.

The Skill score is calculated per match.

Potential looks ahead. The model compares a footballer's development with older players who had a similar level and development path at a comparable age.

These were the five players with the highest ETV on August 6, 2026.
