Man Utd Transfer News Today: Three signings in two days as four midfielders targeted
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Manchester United transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow and Joao Gomes.
Darlow, Tielemans join
Man Utd have completed their second and third signings in two days after bringing in Karl Darlow from Leeds and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.
Darlow will act as competition for Senne Lammens. Due to the rivalry between the two clubs, the Yorkshire side didn’t even mention Man Utd by name in their announcement of the deal.
Darlow was available on a free transfer after leaving Leeds, and the 35-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Red Devils, with the option to extend by a further year.
29-year-old Tielemans, meanwhile, has been signed for €41 million thanks to a release clause in his Aston Villa contract. The Birmingham club did not want to lose the midfielder, but they were powerless to stop the move.

More competition for Joao Gomes
Newcastle have joined the race to sign Joao Gomes from Wolves, adding themselves to a growing list of potential suitors.
Man Utd's long-standing interest in the midfielder has resurfaced after his expected move to Atletico Madrid collapsed.
The Red Devils are once again considering a deal worth around €45 million for the Brazilian, but Liverpool and now Newcastle are expected to rival United for his signature, according to the i Paper.
Four midfield options
Man Utd have already completed the signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea, with Youri Tielemans expected to follow soon.
However, Michael Carrick is still keen for further reinforcements in the midfield department after Casemiro left on a free transfer and Manuel Ugarte suffered a long-term knee injury.
The Athletic reports that United could sign one of Carlos Baleba of Brighton, Alex Scott of Bournemouth, Sander Berge of Fulham and Felix Nmecha of Borussia Dortmund.
Aurelien Tchouameni is the dream option, but United appear to have moved on from any potential deal for the Frenchman, who could sign a new contract with Real Madrid.
Neville wants Gravenberch at Man Utd
If former Man Utd defender Gary Neville had the choice to sign one current Liverpool star for United, he would select Ryan Gravenberch.
"It's harder because [Florian] Wirtz, Isak aren't jumping out to me, [Hugo] Ekitike yeah, [Dominik] Szoboszlai maybe, [Alexis] Mac Allister hmm. I'd go Gravenberch," he said when ask who he would sign from United's rivals.
"If you said to me now, I'd take Gravenberch because I think he's the best of the three midfielders and we need a midfielder desperately.
"The forwards are good but I wouldn't swap them over [Bryan] Mbeumo, [Matheus] Cunha, Bruno [Fernandes], Amad [Diallo], I'd don't think I'd be jumping to take any of them. I think they've got potential to do brilliant things but they've not proved it yet."
