Two Champions League clubs are interested in signing Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.

Garnacho endured a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge following his €46million (£40m) switch from Manchester United last summer.

The 22-year-old scored eight goals in all competitions for Chelsea but just one of them came in the Premier League.

And therefore Garnacho is being strongly linked with an immediate departure from Chelsea this summer.

The Athletic understands the Blues are open to selling Garnacho, with the club needing to offload players before signing new ones.

Chelsea announced a pre-tax loss (€306.2m/£262.4million) for the year ending June 30 2025 in April of this year - the largest ever recorded by a Premier League club.

But the Mail understands Chelsea have moved a step closer to selling Garnacho as they look to raise vital funds for manager Xabi Alonso.

The same publication claims two unnamed Champions League clubs are now showing interest in the Argentina international.

Chelsea must sell-to-buy in order to back Alonso

The Athletic understands Alonso is keen to bolster his squad with a new central defender and a versatile attacker ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Chelsea are interested in Crystal Palace centre-back Maxence Lacroix and Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, according to the same outlet.

France international Lacroix has excelled for Palace since moving to Selhurst Park from German side Wolfsburg in August 2024.

He has been a near ever-present throughout his time in south London, helping the Eagles win the FA Cup, Community Shield and UEFA Conference League.

Meanwhile, England star Rogers has developed a reputation as one of the Premier League’s best attacking midfielders at Villa.

The 23-year-old has scored 31 goals in 125 games since moving to Villa Park from Championship side Middlesbrough in February 2024.

Rogers was also named UEFA Europa League Player of the Season after helping Villa win the competition in 2025-26.

However, a separate report from the Mail claims it would take a British record €152m (£130m) in order to prize Rogers away from Villa.

Alexander Isak joined Liverpool from Newcastle United for a British record €144m (£125m) last summer.

Like Chelsea, Villa are also suffering a financial headache, with UEFA’s spending rules effectively meaning they have to offload one key player before strengthening Unai Emery’s squad this summer, according to numerous sources.

However, The Telegraph understands Villa are desperate to keep hold of Rogers, despite their need to sanction a major sale.

Despite their own financial struggles, Chelsea signed highly-rated Italy international Marco Palestra from Atalanta last week. BBC Sport claims the fee was in the region of €55m (£47m).
