Fernandez speaks out on Chelsea future

Enzo Fernandez has responded to speculation linking him with an exit from Chelsea this summer after Real Madrid cooled their interest in the midfielder.

Fernandez scored a late winner against Egypt on Tuesday to send Argentina through to the World Cup quarter finals and he was quizzed about his future after the match.

However, Fernandez refused to be drawn into public comments and insisted that he would wait until after the World Cup to ‘see what happens’ with his Chelsea future.

"I'm not thinking about my future right now. I'm here living this incredible moment for me, and we'll see what happens after the World Cup,” Fernandez told DAZN.

Vlahovic on Chelsea radar

Dusan Vlahovic could emerge as an option for Chelsea if they look to revamp their striking options this summer, CaughtOffside claim.

Vlahovic is a free agent after leaving Juventus and he has long been tracked by Chelsea, with a deal more feasible now that the Serbian could be forced to lower his wage demands.

Chelsea are still determining the futures of Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson and, while both players could remain at Stamford Bridge, a move for Vlahovic could develop if either striker does leave.

Vlahovic is not Chelsea’s only target, while the 26-year-old is also wanted by many clubs, but a deal is reportedly being explored, with the Blues having made contact with the player’s representatives already.

Santos deal agreed

Man Utd have agreed a deal with Chelsea for midfielder Andrey Santos, as per David Ornstein.

The 22-year-old will sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford after failing to nail down a regular starting spot at Chelsea. Man Utd will pay €56.3m and a further €2.3m in easily achievable add-ons.

The Blues will retain a 10% sell-on clause.

Derry set to join Sporting on loan

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea are in advanced talks for another deal for a young star this summer, with a move in place with Sporting Lisbon for a young winger.

Romano revealed that 19-year-old Jesse Derry is set to join Sporting on loan for the upcoming season after signing a new contract with Chelsea.

Chelsea were believed to have faced interest in clubs who wanted to permanently sign Derry but the teenager has penned a long-term extension with the Blues before moving to Sporting, who will cover his salary and will not have a buy option.

Romano claimed that the move to Sporting is in part due to the good relationship between them and Chelsea, having seen Quenda and midfielder Dario Essugo join from the Portuguese side in recent times.

Como and Inter make unusual Chalobah move

Fabrizio Romano has also given an update on Trevoh Chalobah’s future after Como and Inter engaged in unusual talks to try and resolve the defender’s situation.

Como have seen an offer of €25 million turned down by Chelsea and Inter are now in talks over a deal, although the two Italian sides are also negotiating with each other to learn their intentions over Chalobah.

Romano said: “Como communicated to Inter – again, from what I understand, this was direct contact between the presidents –that they do not want to participate in bidding wars.

“So, what Como communicated to Inter is: 'If you want to sign Chalobah in the coming days, we, Como, are ready to step aside and move on to another target. If, on the other hand, Inter choose not to proceed with Chalobah, Como remain interested and will eventually make a new offer.'"
