Arsenal Transfer News Today: Record deal close as Leandro Trossard domino falls
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Leandro Trossard, Christos Tzolis and Morgan Rogers.
Trossard close to Besiktas
Besiktas are finalising the signing of Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard, Gokmen Ozcan understands.
The Belgium international's agent travelled to Istanbul earlier this week to discuss personal terms with the Super Lig side. An agreement is now believed to be close, with Trossard able to make a final decision on his future now that his World Cup campaign has ended.
A deal is already in place with Arsenal, who are due up to €20 million if all bonuses are triggered. Contrary to reports, neither Galatasaray nor Fenerbahce tried to enter the race for Trossard.
Tzolis talks ongoing
Once Trossard has finalised his move to Besiktas, Arsenal could proceed with a deal for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, Fabrizio Romano reports.
This possible transfer has seemingly gone quiet in recent days, but Romano states that Arsenal remain in contact with the player's entourage. Tzolis is desperate to join the Premier League champions.
The deal essentially hinges on Trossard's exit. Should that get sorted, Tzolis could be on his way to the Emirates in a transfer that will likely see him become the most expensive Greek ever as well as Club Brugge's record sale.
Arsenal still Rogers favourites
Arsenal remain in pole position to sign Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, CaughtOffside claims.
A deal for the England star has been slow to progress because of Villa's reluctance to sell. It is believed that they will only consider Premier League-record bids north of €145m.
Despite this, a deal can't be ruled out at this stage, and Arsenal remain the frontrunners to secure Rogers' signing, despite strong interest from other clubs. FootballTransfers recently revealed that an agreement on personal terms is imminent.
Guimaraes state of play
Newcastle are "flabbergasted" by Arsenal's behaviour in the Bruno Guimaraes transfer saga, according to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie.
Despite all the media noise around this potential transfer, the Gunners have not yet actually made any kind of contact with Newcastle. Communication has so far solely taken place via intermediaries.
Guimaraes has directly informed Newcastle of his desire to sign for Arsenal, but he accepts his club's stance that he will only be sold if a suitable offer arrives. He could cost up to €100m, and it is currently not clear whether the Gunners would be prepared to pay that much.
