Mikel Arteta’s side have sold Leandro Trossard to Besiktas for a fee that could reach €20 million and they have earmarked Tzolis as their preferred candidate to replace the Belgium international following his impressive form last season.

The Greece forward registered 51 goal contributions in 52 games for Club Brugge across all competitions in 2025-26 and it’s understood that he is close to completing a move to the Gunners for a fee of roughly €40m.

Tzolis is only interested in joining Arsenal this summer, as per football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, and it’s understood that talks are ongoing between the two clubs as the Gunners look to finalise a deal before their pre-season begins on 20 July.

Transfer reporter Nicolo Schira has now revealed that Tzolis has reached a full agreement to sign a five-year contract at Arsenal, with the Greece international set to earn €3m per annum in north London.

A deal hasn’t yet been finalised between Arsenal and Club Brugge, but Tzolis has agreed to join the Gunners and negotiations are likely to ramp up over the next few days as Arteta’s side look to complete their next summer signing.

Analysis: Will Christos Tzolis start for Arsenal next season?

Widespread rumours have suggested that Tzolis will not be the only attacking player to arrive at Arsenal this summer, and FootballTransfers understands they are still leading the race to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.

Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola is also on Arsenal’s radar and a potential move for the Frenchman could accelerate following the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.

Furthermore, Gabriel Martinelli remains at the club and while he has been linked with a possible exit, it seems more likely that he will stay at Arsenal next season, despite rumoured interest from multiple clubs across world football.

So, Tzolis is likely to be used as a rotation option during his debut campaign at the Emirates Stadium, although he will certainly be used on a regular basis, especially as Arsenal will be competing on all fronts again next term.
