Arsenal receive €150m transfer message for top Arteta target
Paris Saint-Germain have set a €150 million asking price for Arsenal and Liverpool target Bradley Barcola, according to reports in France.
The 23-year-old has been identified as a possible summer signing by several top clubs across Europe amid his uncertain future at the Parc des Princes, and it’s understood that both Arsenal and Liverpool are vying to secure his signature before Deadline Day.
Arsenal have earmarked Barcola as a potential replacement for Leandro Trossard, who is expected to join Turkish side Besiktas for €20m, and he is one of their primary summer targets, alongside Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of his services amid their desire to bolster their attacking roster.
Andoni Iraola’s side have already signed Osasuna winger Victor Munoz so far this summer, but Barcola is regarded as a top target and they are expected to intensify talks over a possible deal after his participation at the 2026 World Cup with France.
It’s been suggested that PSG are open to selling Barcola this summer, with Luis Enrique’s side currently in advanced talks over deals for AS Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche and RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.
Offloading Barcola would help create space in the squad for Akliouche and Diomande, however PSG aren’t willing to let him leave without earning significant compensation and they have slapped a €150m asking price on his head, as per a report from L’Equipe.
The Ligue 1 giants reportedly have no intention of selling Barcola unless they receive a major transfer fee, and they are even hoping that he will extend his current contract, which is due to expire in 2028.
However, Barcola himself is open to an exit, with Arsenal and Liverpool currently the frontrunners to sign the €150m-rated forward.
Analysis: Who should Bradley Barcola join?
Barcola registered 20 goal contributions in 49 games across all competitions last season and data analytics experts SciSports believe that Liverpool would be his best destination in world football.
The Reds have the highest ‘Career Fit’ score of any club on the planet for Barcola (83), narrowly ahead of current employers PSG, and El Clasico rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Manchester United and Manchester City rank fifth and sixth, while Arsenal are way down in 24th. As a result, Barcola may be best off securing a move to Anfield this summer.
