The summer transfer window is set to officially open across Europe this week, with plenty of deals in process and likely to be completed as the 2026 World Cup also progresses to the knockout stages.

The window has been open for a number of weeks in the Premier League, with the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool already active in the market and bringing in signings such as Jan Paul van Hecke and Victor Munoz respectively.

With plenty of deals still going on, FootballTransfers takes a look at five transfers that could be completed this week.

Yan Diomande to Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain could accelerate the signing of Yan Diomande this week after the RB Leipzig wonderkid verbally agreed to join the Ligue 1 giants over Liverpool.

Liverpool had been pushing hard for Diomande and saw an offer of around €100 million rejected by Leipzig earlier this month but the 19-year-old has now agreed personal terms over a five-year deal with PSG.

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG are in talks with Leipzig over a ‘solution’ and, while the German side are insisting on more than €100m for their star man, they could accept a lower deal if the 19-year-old is allowed to stay on loan with them for one more year, suggesting that a breakthrough may not be far off.

Granit Xhaka to Chelsea

Chelsea have not signed a player over the age of 26 since 2022 so there were plenty of eyebrows raised over the weekend when it emerged that they had made an approach for 33-year-old Granit Xhaka.

The Swiss international had an excellent debut season for Sunderland and he has now become a top target for incoming Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso, who is desperate to reunite with a player he won the Bundesliga with at Bayer Leverkusen.

Chelsea saw an offer of under €10m rejected by Sunderland and the Black Cats have insisted that their club captain is not for sale at any price, although Xhaka is keen on the move and has agreed personal terms, with talks expected to continue throughout the week.

Elliot Anderson to Manchester City

Manchester City are set to break the British transfer record to sign Elliot Anderson after a deal was agreed with Nottingham Forest for the England international last week.

Anderson has been City's top target for the summer and a deal of £130m is expected to be completed in the coming days after the 23-year-old passed a medical in the US.

The midfielder has penned a five-year contract with City that reportedly could net him wages of more than €300,000 if all bonuses are met.

Goncalo Ramos to Milan

Milan have agreed to sign PSG striker Goncalo Ramos for a club-record fee, with new manager Ruben Amorim on course to make his first signing after being appointed this month.

Ramos has struggled for first team football since joining PSG in 2023 but the French side are set to earn a substantial fee for the 25-year-old, with Romano claiming a deal will be worth €74m plus add-ons.

The deal is believed to be done and will be announced imminently, with a medical already having been completed in Florida, where Ramos is featuring at the World Cup with Portugal.

Robert Lewandowski to Chicago Fire

MLS side Chicago Fire are set to pull off an impressive coup after agreeing to sign Robert Lewandowski following his exit from Barcelona.

Lewandowski’s is a free agent after leaving Barca and the 37-year-old is understood to have agreed a two-year deal with Chicago Fire.

The deal is complete and ready to be announced, according to multiple sources, with Lewandowski having been pursued by the MLS outfit for many months and visiting Chicago recently to finalise talks.
