Man Utd Transfer News Today: Deal done as strong Mateus Fernandes push revealed
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Mateus Fernandes, Casemiro and Felix Nmecha.
Man Utd accelerate Fernandes pursuit
Man Utd are "pushing" to get a deal done for West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Portugal international is a priority target following the Hammers' relegation, and the Red Devils are believed to be the favourites for his signature. However, there is competition from Real Madrid and other Premier League clubs.
"There are two clubs pushing from England, and he is an idea for Real Madrid," Romano said. "Fernandes is Portuguese, and Jose Mourinho has indicated his name as one of the options considered in midfield. But from England, the clubs are way more aggressive financially.
"They want to do the deal as soon as possible. Man Utd are pushing in talks with the agent of the player, and they are also pushing in talks with West Ham to try and find the solution. They also have an interest in Crysencio Summerville, the winger from West Ham."
Casemiro deal done
Romano has also revealed that departing Man Utd midfielder Casemiro has reached a full agreement with Inter Miami.
The Brazilian will leave the Red Devils when his contract expires on 30 June. Casemiro already informed his other suitors weeks ago that he had his heart set on a move to Miami.
A full verbal agreement is now in place with the Major League Soccer club, with Casemiro only needing to sign the contract. That said, due to MLS's roster rules, Miami still need to make some trades before they can actually use the midfielder.
Nmecha keen on move
Borussia Dortmund star Felix Nmecha is keen on a move to the Premier League this summer, TEAMtalk claims.
The Germany international recently signed a new contract with Dortmund, but that has not stopped suitors from establishing contact with him over a potential summer move. The former Man City academy product has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League.
Nmecha would be willing to jump ship just a few months after penning his new deal, and contrary to reports in Germany, it is asserted that a deal could be done for as little as €60m this summer. Man Utd and Man City are among the clubs interested in him.
Romero no longer a target
Tottenham captain Cristian Romero is no longer a target for Man Utd, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Rumours have surfaced claiming that Man Utd are looking to sign the Argentinian centre-back this summer, but Romano understands that the Red Devils' previous interest in Romero has been dormant for months.
"I can guarantee that Manchester United didn't make any approach to Tottenham for Cristian Romero," he explained. "There are other clubs working on a deal for Romero, and there is a serious possibility he leaves.
"Man Utd asked about his situation months ago, but not in June and not even in May. My understanding is that if Romero leaves Tottenham, his priority would be to try a new chapter in another country."
