Fabrizio Romano reveals Lewis Hall contact

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United remain in contact over a potential move for Lewis Hall from Newcastle this summer.

“Over the last two or three days, Manchester United kept the contacts alive and active with those close to Lewis Hall, the left-back from Newcastle,” Romano said on YouTube. “Manchester United already made contact a few weeks ago. Manchester United have genuine interest in the player; they really like Lewis Hall, so he's one of the targets.

“Of course, we know Manchester United are going to be busy with midfielders. That area of the pitch for Man United remains a priority because Éderson is coming—Éderson is done. But then after Éderson, one more midfielder at least—it could be two, we will see—but one more midfielder will join Manchester United.

“And then left-back remains a position they want to cover. Lewis Hall is a player they really, really love at Manchester United. Then this depends on Newcastle because they will not make it easy.”

United to receive budget boost from Amorim

Manchester United will receive a boost to their summer transfer kitty if Ruben Amorim becomes AC Milan manager, according to The Telegraph.

Amorim has been out of work since being sacked by the Red Devils in January following a torrid 14 months in charge.

While United are set to earn Champions League riches next season, they revealed in February that dismissing Amorim could end up costing them a staggering €18.4million (£15.9m) in compensation.

But that figure is expected to be reduced if Amorim takes over as Milan’s new head coach, with The Telegraph claiming the 41-year-old is expected to be named as Massimiliano Allegri’s replacement.

Everton duo transfer status revealed

Manchester United have learned the transfer stances of Iliman Ndiaye and Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton, according to the Daily Mail.

Speculation has started to swirl regarding Ndiaye’s long-term future after The Athletic revealed he has turned down several contract offers from Everton, who were keen to reward him for his early-season form.

It is claimed there has been no falling out between Everton and the former Sheffield United man but Ndiaye is only keen to sign fresh terms provided a release clause, which can be activated as early as this summer, is included – a proposal the Toffees have rejected, leading to Arsenal and United monitoring the situation.

It has also been revealed that Everton will not let Branthwaite leave for anything less than £70m (€81m), with the defender being a long-term target for United.

Mourinho eyes Fernandes deal

Jose Mourinho’s transfer shortlist has been revealed by Spanish media, with Manchester United among the teams that could be affected by the new Real Madrid manager’s summer transfer plans.

Mourinho is believed to have asked Real Madrid to reinforce the midfield with two players and restructure the defence with ‘three or four’ incomings.

It is claimed that Mourinho is ‘requesting’ the signing of Mateus Fernandes as the club’s new midfield signing, although West Ham are said to be asking for a fee of €93m – a figure which Real Madrid ‘will never reach’ unless a ‘firm stance’ is demanded by the coach.

Fernandes is also wanted by Man Utd and the 21-year-old is believed to prefer a move to Old Trafford, although being the subject of a personal request from Mourinho may influence his thoughts if West Ham lower their asking price, with a deal currently said to be ‘not impossible but complicated.
